The concert poster has moved house with me three times. I no longer remember every song from the evening, but I remember stopping in the street because of the shape of its lettering.
It was printed in two colours on ordinary paper. The designer had let one enormous word run almost beyond the edge. Everything else was small enough to reward a second look.
Good everyday design has a way of becoming personal. What began as an announcement is now a small record of a particular place, a particular year, and the person I was when I brought it home.
